*** UPDATED 1x *** Walker goes live with new radio ad

by Barton Lorimor

Democrat Jeremy Walker went live with a new radio ad yesterday.

Throughout the one-minute spot, Walker, who is challenging Republican David Luechtefeld for the 58th district state Senate seat, says he would be the better choice because he brings a fresh perspective. The ad repeats an audio clips of Luechtefeld claiming he is not sure Illinois’ problems can be fixed.

*** UPDATED (2:12 a.m.) ***
Walker apparently had his day before the Southern Illinoisan editorial board Monday. It looks like he reiterated a lot of the points he made in his radio ad, but also made this revelation…

If elected, he’s on a brief timetable, too, as Walker said he’s not interested in becoming a career politician. A proponent of term limits both on elected offices and leadership positions within the general assembly, Walker said he would spend no more than six years in office.

End of update.
